It was a 16-14 halftime lead for West as the Freshman Lady Warriors Basketball team visited Lincoln-Way Central last night. In the 2nd half, though, the West Side took off, outscoring the Knights 21-5. The final tally was a 37-19 win for the Warriors, and sole possession of the SWSC Red Conference title. The team moved to 9-1 in conference play and 16-6 on the season. Scoring leaders for West were:

1) Rachel Pawluk- 14 pts
2) Kate Massey- 8 pts
3) Abbie Gregus- 6 pts
4) Madison Fiore- 4 pts
5) Ella Adams- 3 pts
6) Abbie Guillaume- 2 pts

In game 2 of the doubleheader, the West Side doubled up the Knights by a score of 30-15. Leading all scorers was Emma Pinciak with 12 points- her personal best on a strong season. Other offensive contributors for the Warriors were:

1) Olivia Franczyk- 8 pts
2) Kailey Lysik- 6 pts
3) Haley Hammang- 4 pts

The Lady Warriors moved to 11-6 in game 2 matchups this season.

That closes out the 2018-2019 campaign for the LWW Freshman Girls Basketball Team. It was quite an amazing year from a special class- one that will do great things over the next 3 years.
