Michael Kennedy showed timely hitting on Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead Lincoln-Way West past Stagg 12-7 on Saturday. Kennedy drove in runs on a double in the third and a home run in the fifth.
An early lead helped propel Lincoln-Way West to victory. Lincoln-Way West scored on a fielder’s choice by Joe Gonzalez in the first inning, a fielder’s choice by Brock Berry in the first inning, a double by Chase Jankowski in the first inning, a error in the first inning, and a fielder’s choice by Gonzalez in the second inning.
Stagg scored three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Stagg was led by #16 and #23, all driving in runs in the inning.
Robert Jackman was credited with the victory for Lincoln-Way West. He surrendered two runs on two hits over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Keagan Bobbitt and Jace McWilliams entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
#3 took the loss for Stagg. He went four innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits and striking out one.
