Warriors News · Hannah Chesley was our Ultimate Warrior in 2013 #WhereAreTheyNow

Hannah Chesley was our Ultimate Warrior in 2013. Hannah had this to say: I am currently living in Kansas City and absolutely love it. On top of my full time role, I also coach CrossFit and run a couple social media accounts. It’s true… if you love what you do, you never feel like you’re working a day of your life. I want to thank Coach Deluca & Coach Visny for supporting my passion in health & fitness, even in high school – they always let me train with the football team and would come in before school to give me additional training. Now, years down the line I am a coach to athletes and can only hope I support my athletes as they did for me. While I am not getting coached by you anymore, I still look up to both of you. I also want to thank Dr. Schmitt – for being a support system and landline even after leaving Lincoln-Way West. You guided me from afar through those first couple semesters of college and I sometimes wonder where I would be if I left Drake University when I was hitting rock bottom. Thank you for pulling me through – my 4 years at Drake University were some of the best and molded me into who I am.

Sports Played at West:  Volleyball, Track & Field

College: Drake University, Class of 2017

Major: Business Administration

Why You Chose Your College: I chose Drake University because honestly… it felt like home when I visited. It had a great business program (which I knew I wanted to do), was away from home but not too too far, and was smaller.

Accomplishments in College: I didn’t play sports but I had a dream of becoming a coach and I got a coaching certificate to coach – so I did!

Current Occupation: Field Marketing for an Oral Surgeon

Favorite Athletic Memory at West: Oh gosh…. sooo many. I always loved Friday night lights OR senior night!

Best Advice for Warrior Athletes: Don’t take yourself too seriously. The best memories I had in high school, college, and beyond (yes even now) have been doing things I never thought I could do or ‘typically’ wouldn’t do. Let yourself go a little bit and don’t be so concerned about ‘figuring it out’ or knowing exactly what/who you want to be. The experiences you have trying too is what it’s all about!
